Synopsis
1917 is an epic war film and Epic one‑shot movie ever directed by Sam Mendes and co-written by Mendes and Krysty Wilson-Cairns. The film is based on a story told by his grandfather Alfred Mendes to his grandson Sam Mendes, and tells the story of two young British soldiers at the height of World War 1 in Spring 1917, tasked with giving a warning message about an ambush during one of the fighting soon after the Germans withdrew to the Hindenburg Line during Operation Alberich.
